Certificate Renewal Requirements as of June 20, 2014
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON CERTIFICATE RENEWAL
If you are using SCECHs to renew your certificate or license in MOECS, you need to locate your Personal Identification Code (PIC) on MOECS and place it in the Secure Central Registry (SCR) to have your SCECH credits appear in MOECS. Detailed information can be found here on locating your PIC number.
Once your PIC is in the SCR, any SCECHs already uploaded in the SCR should appear in MOECS within four (4) business days.
College credits are not transferred into the Secure Central Registry as SCECHs. MOECS has a separate location on your account to record the college credits you have earned. After you have entered MOECS and updated your profile, there will be a menu button on the left side of your screen to "View/Update College Credit".
You can also get more information directly from MDE's site by clicking here:

SB-CEU Transcript Request for SB-CEUs earned BEFORE JANUARY 1, 2010 contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Transcripts for programs taken AFTER January 1, 2010 will be handled by the Michigan Institute for Educational Management.
The SCR will charge $20 for an official transcript, while an unofficial transcripts can be viewed and printed online free.
The Office of Professional Preparation Services (OPPS) will no longer print or mail educator certificates. Educators will print out their own certificates from their MOECS account. The certificate requires notarization. It is recommended that you print out additional copies, one for your Human Resources department and additional copies for your records.
NOTE: If you are considered a grandpersoned school administrator, please make sure that records showing continuing education was completed, and is on file for every 5 year span of employment with the employer. That is, 6 semester credit hours or 150 SCECH's. Professional development does not count if not an SCECH offering. Ensure you have possession of records as well.
